Absoft in the Community
Our world doesn’t just consist of staff, customers and potential customers.
It’s important to us to be a good corporate citizen, and that brings with it a range of roles and responsibilities, including helping the local community.
At Absoft we take our responsibility towards the local community very seriously. Our staff Charities Committee makes allocations from the company’s charity fund and keeps everyone informed about fundraising events they can get involved in.
Recent donations have included:
Absoft's previous charity donations
We have also developed long-term relationships with the following well known organisations:
Cornerstone is one of Scotland's largest charities and a leading provider of services for adults and children with learning disabilities. Absoft supports Cornerstone in a variety of ways, from sponsoring and attending charitable events, to taking part in the annual Cornerstone Cycle challenge. In the 2008 Challenge, Absoft staff raised more than £300.
Absoft enjoys a strong connection with Aberdeen’s Robert Gordon University. We have recruited a number of RGU graduates to our staff over the years, and we have sponsored the University’s annual Entrepreneurship lecture since 2002.
Absoft is proud to support the Anthony Nolan Trust, which operates a bone marrow register and matching service across the UK, and links up with databases across the globe in the search for suitable donors.
Our fundraising on behalf of the Trust has included sponsoring New York marathon runner Margaret Muir, and donations from the audience at the RGU Absoft Entrepreneurship lecture. We also make an annual Christmas donation from our charity fund.
