Aberdeen-based SAP consultancy, Absoft, has been appointed external IT support provider for the West Yorkshire based John Cotton Group.
The John Cotton Group is Europe’s leading manufacturer of duvets, pillows and mattress protectors, and also the UK’s largest producer of filling products for bedding and upholstery. The privately owned company, which was founded in 1916, has an annual turnover of approximately £80m.
The company has SAP R/3 version 4.0b and uses it for sales and distribution, materials management and finance. “We were looking for a partnership approach, a company that could provide us with specialist SAP skills at a competitive rate and Absoft fits the bill,” explained Chris Earl, Business Systems Manager at the John Cotton Group. “Going forward, we plan to develop our use of the system, and Absoft has the experience we will be looking for as well as a proactive approach to suggesting improvements.”
In addition to providing support, Absoft is conducting an analysis of the John Cotton Group’s SAP system to identify changes that will give the company a greater return on its investment in SAP and deliver more benefits to the company as a whole.
